At WeMadeYourSite.com, we handle your information with the same care we ask you to give your own customers’ data. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.

1. What we collect

  • When you request a preview (the form on this site): your name, your business name and your email — those three are required, because the preview is built around your business and emailed to you. Optionally, and only if you choose to give them: a link to your website or public business profile, your city and state, your phone number, and a short description of what you do. The phone number is optional, and giving it is not permission to call or text you: our default reply is email.
  • Once you’re a client (onboarding form): your logo, photos, text, hours, social media links, and any other information you give us to build your site.
  • Site analytics on your website: we measure, using first-party tools, how many people visit your site and how many reach out by phone or message.
  • Advertising measurement on this site: wemadeyoursite.com runs the Meta pixel and the Google Ads tag so we can measure whether our own advertising works. It records page views and whether a preview request was submitted, and it sets third-party cookies. It never receives your name, your email, your phone number, your message, or the link to your business — a successful request sends only an opaque reference code with no personal data in it. This applies to our site, not to the website we build for you. The Google Ads tag is told the same opaque reference and nothing else, and it is what tells us that an advertisement led to an enquiry — never who sent it. This site has no cookie banner, so we never ask you first. Outside the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the Google tag is allowed to store by default: that is our decision, not your consent, and we are not going to call it consent. Inside the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the tag is set to store nothing, because there it would need your permission and we have no way to ask for it.
  • Public business information (if we find your business online before reaching out): name, address, phone number, rating, and public reviews.

2. How we use your data

  • To contact you and put together a sample of your website.
  • To build, publish, and keep your website running.
  • To let you know before a hosting renewal is due, and to answer you when you write.
  • To meet what we’ve agreed to in our Terms of service.

We never sell your data to third parties, and we don’t hand it over for anyone else’s marketing. We do not treat a phone number as consent to text you, and we do not treat reading this policy as consent to market to you.

3. Who we share your data with

Only the service providers we need to run this service, each bound by its own security policies: our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, our website hosting provider, and, when relevant, the mapping service we use to look up public information about your business. None of them may use your data for their own purposes.

4. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the data we hold about you or your business by writing to hello@wemadeyoursite.com. We handle these requests in line with applicable US privacy laws.

5. Security

Your information travels encrypted (HTTPS), and access to our systems is restricted by role: only the people who need to see a piece of data to do their job can see it, and every action is logged.

6. Children

Our service is built for businesses, not for children. We don’t knowingly collect information from minors.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make a material update to this policy, we’ll let you know through the same channels we normally use to reach you.
