If your plan pays less than this sheet says, the difference is ours, not yours — we file the claim and we eat the gap. If you want to do the filling next month instead, that is a normal answer and nobody will call you about it.

01 · Why the paper comes first
Most people are not afraid of the drill. They are afraid of the bill.
We have never met anyone who put off a crown because they enjoy toothache. They put it off because nobody would tell them what it costs, and because the last office gave them a number after the work was done.
So we moved the paper to the front. You get the estimate at the chair, printed, with the procedure codes on it — the same codes your insurer uses, so you can call them and check us. Then you decide. Including deciding not to.

02 · What we do, and what it costs
General dentistry for a household, priced in public.
These are the cash prices, without insurance. With a plan you almost always pay less; the estimate will say exactly how much less before you agree to anything.
Fillings
Tooth-coloured composite, matched to the tooth beside it. One surface or four, the price is on the sheet before we start.

03 · Your first visit, in order
Ninety minutes, and you leave knowing everything we know.

Paperwork before you arrive
We send two pages by text the day before. Nobody should be filling in a clipboard with a sore tooth.

Images and a full chart
A set of X-rays and a tooth-by-tooth chart, read out loud while a hygienist writes it down. You hear the same words we do.

Impressions, if we need models
Alginate, two minutes in the mouth, poured in stone the same afternoon. The models stay here for two years in case something changes.

The estimate, printed and handed over
Everything found, everything it costs, what your plan covers, in what order it should be done and what can wait. On paper.

Cleaning, if today is the right day for one
If your gums need the deeper kind, we say so instead of doing the quick version and calling it done.
A poured model of your own mouth. It is the cheapest object in the building and the one that settles most arguments.
04 · A tooth that hurts today
Two rooms are kept empty every morning. They are for this.
Call before 10:00 AM and you are seen the same day.
Not a triage call, not a form — a chair. If we cannot get you out of pain here, we will tell you who can and call them while you are still in the room.

The tray for an emergency visit is short on purpose: find it, stop it, explain it, book the real repair for a day when you can plan for it.
05 · Insurance, and what to do without it
We file your claim. And if you have no plan, there is a flat one here.

We are in network with Delta Dental of Wisconsin, Aetna, Cigna, MetLife and Ameritas, and we will file out-of-network claims for anything else. Bring the card, or a photo of it.
06 · Who is actually in the building
Four people. The same four, every week.
Nobody here is a rotating associate from a management company. If you liked your hygienist last time, she will be the one who cleans your teeth this time.

The waiting room seats nine and is almost never used, because we run on time. If we are late, someone will come out and tell you by how much.

08 · Questions people actually ask
The ones that come up at the front desk, answered here instead.
Do I have to have the work done the day you find it?
No, and we will not phone you about it. The estimate is good for ninety
days. If something is genuinely urgent — a cracked cusp, an abscess — we will
say so plainly and explain what happens if you wait, which is the honest version of
pressure.
What if I have not been to a dentist in years?
Then you are a normal first visit here. Nobody will comment on it, and the
plan we write will be in stages, cheapest and most urgent first, so you are not looking
at one enormous number.
Can I pay over time?
For anything over $500 we split it into three payments in-house, no
interest and no credit check, first one on the day of treatment. We do not sign anyone up
for a medical credit card.
My child has never been to a dentist. What happens?
The first appointment is a chair ride, a count of the teeth and a sticker.
No X-rays unless there is a reason. If they are not ready that day, we stop and try again
in six months — that is not a wasted visit, it is how it is supposed to go.
Do you take Medicaid or BadgerCare?
For children, yes. For adults we are not currently enrolled, and rather
than leave you calling around, the front desk keeps a short list of offices nearby that
are, and will hand it to you.
Is the whitening any good, or is it a gimmick?
Custom trays work; the light in the chair mostly does not, so we do not
sell it. Trays and gel are $265 and they work on natural teeth only — a crown or a
white filling will not change colour, and if that is going to show, we will tell you
before you pay.
I am terrified. Genuinely.
Say so when you book and we put you first thing in the morning, allow
double the time and agree a stop signal before anything starts. Nitrous is available and
it is $79. Plenty of people here started that way and now come in for cleanings without
thinking about it.

Call and a person picks up between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM. If it is out of hours, leave a message — the machine is checked at 7:00 sharp and toothaches get called back first.
